The leader of fraction of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky was involved in the financing of terrorist organizations DNR and LNR.
The Prosecutor General’s office prepares the suspected leader of the faction of the liberal democratic party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky concerning the financing of terrorism in the occupied Donbas. About it reports a press-service GPU.
“The pretrial investigation established that the citizen of the Russian Federation Zhirinovsky, in Moscow, in March-April 2014 with the purpose of material support of terrorist organizations LNR and DNR created and headed an organized group, composed of separate deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and liberal democratic party members”, – noted in press service.
The GPU said that the heads and representatives of regional branches of the liberal democratic party of Russia with the corresponding goal have been collecting funds from the citizens of Russia.
“Over the account personally made to the property and funds collected from citizens of the Russian Federation, the group under the leadership of Zhirinovsky, acting, including, at the request of the leader of the terrorist group of Somalia Thick (Callsign Givi, EDS.), for 2014-2017 has supplied the militants of the six vehicles of the Russian manufacture with high clearance and operational capabilities,” – said the press service.
As it turned out, some of the vehicles used during the Commission of terrorist acts against the Ukrainian military, in particular, on the territory of Donetsk airport.
On these facts, 23 Aug 2017 employees of GPU has made the message on suspicion in Commission of a criminal offense under part 3 St. 27 part 3, article 258-5 of the Criminal code (financing of terrorism).
The sanction of article provides punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
