Google will help in creating a jailbreak for iOS 11

Until recently enthusiasts with enviable regularity produced breaks for iOS, but now days when anyone one-click could download the jailbreak on the device, gone forever.

Security experts continue to search for vulnerabilities in iOS, but they are rare, and discovered their researchers prefer to sell them for huge money vendors of exploits. The last jailbreak was released for iOS 10 and only works on the iPhone 7. Therefore, the recent statement made by one of Google employees, has stirred up the jailbreak community and aroused great interest of specialists in cyber security.

Wednesday, 6 December, a researcher from Google’s Project Zero LAN bir (Ian Beer), specializing in the vulnerabilities in the mobile platform from Apple, hinted in a tweet that Google is planning to release a exploit that can help in the development of jailbreak for iOS 11. According to other researchers, they are able to turn the exploit into a fully functional jailbreak.

Bir encouraged its Twitter followers to use in their intended “solely for research” iOS 11.1.2, as it is planning in the near future to release a “tfp0”. The abbreviation “tfp0” means “task for pid 0 (the task for pid 0”) – port tasks of the kernel that provides control over the operating system kernel. As hinted bir, the upcoming release will be part of a large project.

IOS 11.2 was released just last week, and for the most recent versions of iOS exploits are published very rarely. 5 of 15 present in the iOS and fixed in 11.1.2 11.2 iOS vulnerability was discovered by the Bir. It is possible that the researcher will publish some of them.
