The court approved a settlement agreement of the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of the Russian Federation and the Corporation Google, which was filed on the complaint of the Russian “Yandex”. The agreement was concluded for six years and nine months.
Under the settlement agreement Google is required to comply with the requirements of FAS in the field of competition. Google will pay fines totaling 439 million rubles ($7.8 million) – basic fine of 438 million rubles, and two fine of 500 thousand rubles for failure to execute orders. By law, the fines must be paid within two months.
The Russian FAS on 12 August imposed a fine in the amount of 438 million rubles (about us $6,76 million) on Google for violating Russian antitrust rules. The Russian Ministry considered unlawful the practice of implementation of gadgets in Russia running Android OS with a mandatory preset software from Google.
In accordance with the Russian legislation on the payment of the fine, Google was given 60 days, however, the Internet giant claims of the Russian court are not complied with. In this regard, the FAS 2 November appointed two new fine structures of the American Corporation for a total amount of 1 million rubles.
