Google with the support of Ministry of culture of Ukraine has digitized seven museums in different parts of the country and has created a special website “Museums of Ukraine under the open sky”.
This will allow to make a virtual journey to learn more about the history of the country and its architecture.
Those interested can see the unique ethnographic collection, to experience how their ancestors lived in different regions of the country in XV-XIX centuries. In addition, they can even look inside and enjoy the Museum displays.
The creators of the website said: “3D tours of all the museums is also available in Street View mode on Google Maps. The project is part of the campaign “Authentic Ukraine”.
In the list of open air museums were: the national Museum of folk architecture and life of Ukraine in Pirogovo, Museum of folk architecture and life in Lviv “Shevchenko’s grove” Museum of folk architecture and life of the Middle Dnieper (Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky), Transcarpathian Museum of folk architecture and rural life (Uzhgorod), Centre of Ethnology “Mamaeva Sloboda” (Kyiv), national reserve “Khortytsya” (Zaporizhzhya), the Residence of Bohdan Khmelnytsky (Chigirin).
