Google is preparing a new system for Advanced Protection Program for the replacement of two-factor authentication using dedicated hardware. Now enter an additional code after the normal password is considered to be one of the most reliable methods log on to the online resources, however, attackers can relatively easily steal the password, pick it up, stealing from another service or lured with the help of phishing. A report from Bloomberg reports that in the future users will need a pair of physical key like the Yubikey.
Probably, Google will not remove two-factor authentication completely. New sign-in method on the physical keys will be designed for corporate customers that have switched to Google apps, but is concerned at the insufficient level of safety. For example, a few months ago, many are faced with a phishing attack using Google Drive.
Google still has not commented on the rumors about the Advanced Protection Program, so all the information about the technology should be perceived skeptically.
