Rada has exempted non-residents from tax on income from securities of the government securities.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law exempting from taxes on income from securities government securities non-residents.
According to the law, legal entities without status of a legal entity outside of Ukraine will no longer pay the interest, the discount for government securities. This tax is paid by the Ministry of Finance as the Issuer.
236 deputies voted for the bill 7052 “On amendments to the Tax code of Ukraine regarding taxation of income of non-residents-investors in securities”.
Finance Minister Alexander danyluk said that the law will improve the investment attractiveness of government securities to foreign investors. But it can also stimulate the financing of the state budget at the expense of foreign borrowing.
