Giro d’italia-2017: Ewan won the battle of the sprinters

Summing up the results of the seventh stage of the 100th version of the three-week Cycling race Giro d’italia.

In the day’s break on the seventh stage went Giuseppe Fonzi (Triestina Wilier – Selle Italia), Dmitriy kozonchuk (Gazprom – RusVelo) and Simone Ponzi (CCC Sprandi Polkowice). Later, Ponzi dropped from the front group on Fonzi and Kozonchuk spent about five hours, while for 18 kilometers before the finish the main group they do not get.

Four kilometers before the finish line solo attack took the rider Cannondale Kristian Koren, however, the sprint teams controlled the situation and allowed himself to outwit.

In the final shot unexpectedly turned out to be the strongest “ORICA-Scott” Caleb Ewan. Australian Sprinter too soon began his pull, but still
was able to a matter of centimeters ahead of the double winner of Giro stages-2017 Fernando Gaviria.

Tomorrow Giro 189-kilometer mountain second category Monte Sant’angelo and the final 12 calotropis cut with a series of non-category climbs, which guarantees unpredictable climax to the day.
