The country promises resistance.
Germany will resist the deployment in Europe of medium-range missiles with nuclear warheads.
This was stated by foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas in an interview with dpa.
“Europe is in any case should not become a platform of debate about the arms build-up. The deployment of new medium-range missiles will meet widespread resistance in Germany,” said Maas.
Recall, December 4, U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that the United States 60 days to suspend its obligations under the Treaty on elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range, if Russia will not return to its performance.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said in response that the United States did not provide any evidence of Russia’s violations of the Treaty.
Putin also threatened a mirrored response, if the U.S. withdraws from the Treaty on intermediate and shorter-range missiles and will deploy new missiles in Europe.
