The Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier criticized the policy of U.S. President Donald trump regarding the European Union.
As reported in an interview with the second channel of German television ZDF, he noted that in the entire history of the transatlantic relationship “has never been so much uncertainty,” as it is now.
At the same time Steinmeier noted that the German democracy “would not exist without the Americans,” and the development of the economy would not have happened without the “Marshall Plan”.
“Given that I do not suggest we throw everything overboard, although I admit that annoys me a lot,” said the President of Germany.
In his opinion, not everyone in the United States “forgot about the importance of the transatlantic relationship”.
As reported recently Donald trump criticized Germany for its significant surplus in trade with the United States. He called the Germans the “bad” and promised to put an end to this situation.
