German politician Alexander Goland, who heads the electoral list of the right populist party “Alternative for Germany”, said the Crimea is “native Russian territory”.
He stated at the party Congress in Karlsruhe.
His position was expressed in the context of the call to the Federal government on the lifting of sanctions.
“Sanctions are always wrong, it is wrong policy. And they will not return any part of the Crimea. What to do, the Crimea, so to speak, the primordial Russian territory and may not be returned to Ukraine,” said Goland.
It is worth noting that the German Federal government officially condemned the annexation of the Ukrainian Peninsula and remains committed to a policy of non-recognition of the annexation and occupation of Crimea.
Goland at the Congress of “Alternative for Germany” also criticized the West for what he could not build a new world order together with Russia after the Soviet collapse.
In addition, he said that he understands Russian President Vladimir Putin and his policies in the light of NATO expansion to the East, and also advocated the need for good relations between Russia and Germany.
The party “Alternative for Germany” is known for his criticism of immigration policy of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and euroskeptic views. In 2016, she managed to get into the parliaments of the Federal States Baden-württemberg, Saxony-Anhalt and Rhineland-Palatinate.
