Gerashchenko spoke about the proposal of the Kremlin in the Donbas

The proposal of the Russian Federation on peacekeeping mission in the Donbass were received to delay the time, said the MP.

The proposal of the Russian Federation on the introduction of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass was made to postpone the time.

This was stated by first Deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s representative to the Humanities subgroup of the Trilateral contact group Irina Gerashchenko.

According to her, on the conditions proposed by the Russian Federation, no peacekeeping mission will not agree.

“In fact, the Russian Federation, the Russian President dropped this hybrid surrogate proposal for peacekeepers that are supposed to be on the frontline and protect the OSCE mission, is absolute nonsense. No peacekeeping mission, whose mandate would be to protect another mission,” she said.

In addition, Russia does not want to allow the peacekeepers into the occupied territories, as Gerashchenko said, because there are private cases of human rights violations, aggression and violence by militants and there is fighting weapons, which are not allowed IDLO international group.

According to her, therefore, Russia proposed to deploy peacekeepers only on the line of contact.

“It was therefore abandoned this surrogate offer, knowing that the partners in Ukraine, members of the UN security Council won’t accept it. And it was done just in order to delay the time,” she said.
