A group of 36 men, women and children of Yazidis found freedom after three years captivity of militants grouping “Islamic state”, reports the UN.
Where they were held and how freed – fled or someone rescued them from captivity, – the UN report – as explained, so as not to hinder the liberation of the Yazidi captives in the future.
At the moment they are in the village of Dohuk, where they are given necessary assistance including in establishing contacts with relatives.
It is reported that in captivity they were freed slaves.
Yazidis profess their own faith with elements of Zoroastrianism and other religions, which the militants of the “Islamic state” is considered pagan.
According to the UN, in the captivity of ISIS has been able to stay up to a thousand Yazidi women and girls. Some lawyers at the UN believe that the actions of ISIS against Yezidis contain signs of genocide.
Kurdish rebels recaptured most of the territories, where formerly lived the Yezidis in 2015, but many of the Yazidi captives, the militants moved to other regions.
