Potato diet reduces pressure.
Many women limit the consumption of potatoes, in order not to gain weight.
However, scientists refute the stereotype that potatoes are bad for the figure! Two servings of potatoes a day may reduce blood pressure, scientists say. Moreover, it will not affect your figure. The thing is, the form in which to use it. Potatoes are a superfood for you if you are going to cook — cook in the peel, bake, and eat without butter or ketchup.
This conclusion was made by scientists from the University of Pennsylvania. In the study, 18 men and women ate six to eight small potatoes for lunch and dinner as part of their normal diet.
Most of the volunteers were overweight or obese, and also took pills to lower blood pressure. After a month potato diet their blood pressure readings dropped significantly. It turns out that the potato contains chemicals similar in effect to the pills from high blood pressure. In addition, none of the volunteers gained weight.
