In September all horror segment of the Internet (and Zone Horror in particular) has absorbed a wave of news about “It’s” Andres, Moschetti – and the film really deserved such a high-profile lighting, though, because this is one of the best adaptations of Stephen king. That’s just for all the colourful shots of with bill Skarsgard in the role Pennywise we almost forgot about another project, telling about the clown from the sewers of Derry.
We are talking about the documentary “Pennywise: the History of IT”, the creation of which was attended by people who worked on the first television adaptation of 1990. The movie was far from perfect, but still a landmark for the horror – at least due to the stunning performance of the title role villain Tim Curry. By the way, his participation in the project has long been confirmed.
The portal Bloody Disgusting caught producers of the upcoming film, Gary Smart and John Campopiano, and asked them about the current status of filming. The reply came quite a inspirational – picture will be, and pretty soon:
After the stunning three weeks of filming in Los Angeles and Vancouver we got a few interviews with crew members. (…) We plan to shoot the latest episodes of January and release the film around April 2018.
In addition, the creators stocked, in their words, “tons” of previously unpublished material on television “It” – shots and video “behind the scenes”. Most of them fall into the oversized booklet, which will be released by Christmas of 2018. Campopiano says:
I think the expectations of all fans will be rewarded. Of course, in many ways it will be a straightforward documentary of the series “how was it made…”. But in some ways we’ll dig a little deeper and explore interesting themes and subtext, through which this story even after so many years attracts viewers.
Sounds really promising! Looking forward to the final work, and yet rejoice in rare, previously unpublished photo of Tim Curry in the image of our beloved clown-monster.
