From the Museum in Lyon stole the crown from the 1800 gems
The crown of the XIX century, decorated with almost 1800 gems stolen from the Museum of religious art in the French city of Lyon.
According to the Museum, the thieves managed to get into the Museum at night on Saturday and make of it one of the main exhibits.
It is reported that the stolen crown was created in 1899 and decorated with precious stones and pearls donated by rich families of Lyon at that time.
The cost of the exhibit is estimated at more than a million dollars.
Representatives of the Museum noted that last year every stone in the crown have been cataloged, which may facilitate the search for the missing jewels.
The thieves took with him two of the exhibit from the Museum’s collection – ring and the bowl.
After the incident, the Museum was closed during the investigation.
