Civilians in Aleppo were not provided assistance – Hollande
The edition of The Local France reports that French diplomats urged to start urgent talks at the UN to find ways to provide aid to civilians in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Also, the President of France noted that much of the blame for the events in Aleppo lies on Russia. In particular, assistance was provided to civilians of the city after it had been occupied by government troops.
“Russia promises something then fails to execute. It is time to act quickly and decisively,” said Hollande.
Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs of great Britain, Boris Johnson was summoned to the foreign Ministry the ambassadors of Russia and Iran to discuss the situation in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Ryabkov said that the consultations of the Russian and American military experts and diplomats in Geneva on the situation in Aleppo (Syria) is suspended.
Recall, December 13, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin said that the Syrian government regained control of Eastern Aleppo.
However, on 14 December, Syrian government forces renewed attacks on rebel-controlled Eastern Aleppo.
