From 28 may to 11 June at the clay courts of Paris will host the second in-season tournament series Grand slam.
Five weeks before the start of the tournament the organizers of the Open championship of France presented a list of athletes that enter the main draw. Ukraine at Roland Garros-2017 are guaranteed to be represented by four tennis players.
In the men’s singles at the expense of staying in the top 100 of the ATP ranking at the main event of the clay season gets Alexandr Dolgopolov. Sergiy Stakhovsky and Illya Marchenko are forced to get into the main draw through the qualification.
The women at Roland Garros-2017 qualified Elina Svitolina, Lesia Tsurenko and Kateryna Bondarenko. Svitolina is guaranteed to be in seeding. Ekaterina Kozlova will start in qualification, but could theoretically get into the main draw, occupying the sixth position in the “waiting list”.
Last year, the most successful representative of Ukraine in Paris was Elina Svitolina, who in the fourth round were defeated by future finalist of the tournament Serena Williams.
At the 116th version of the Open championship of France’s leading tennis players of today will play a little more than the 32 million euros in prize money. The status of the reigning Champions ground “major” will protect Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Garbine Muguruza (Spain).
