Kerry said, what should be the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas.
UN peacekeepers are needed in the Donbas not only on the demarcation line, but also throughout the occupied territory, including the border.
This was stated by former U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry.
“I think it is foolish to introduce peacekeepers only on the boundary line because it would be a recognition that it is the most important demarcation point. And we know what really the problem is uncontrollable the Ukrainian-Russian border. There need peacekeepers with an understanding of the interests of Ukrainian sovereignty,” he said.
Kerry added that the presence of the UN peacekeeping mission is necessary in all the territory of Donbass, and the mandate should be as broad as possible, to thereby strengthen the OSCE’s authority.
