All the detainees are suspected of bribery.
In the Rivne region detained all of the Directors of forests for illegal logging.
This was announced by the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov on his page in Facebook on Sunday 5 March.
According to him, employees of Department of protection of the economy of the National police together with the Military Prosecutor’s office carried out special operation on elimination of corruption component in forestry from the lowest level to the top.
“To safely operate “by law”, Director of the forestry skid guide tens of thousands of euros. And those, in turn, negotiated with regulatory agencies on the positive result of their inspections. Today, March 5, arrested the acting chief and former head of Department of forest and hunting economy of the Rivne region, and 8 Directors of forestries that “faithfully” worked even on weekends”, – Avakov wrote.
According to him, the Director of forestry brought the management of 15 thousand euros and 5 thousand dollars. The money was supposed to transfer inspectors from the SFA for the concealment of violations.
