The infotainment system Ford SYNC in the near future may acquire specialized apps for carpooling, hybrid navigation and podcasts.
Ford held a contest Make It Driveable among developers of applications designed to improve the driving experience and car ownership in the future. The winners included the team working on the project called Zify.
App Zify is suitable for carpooling — transportation of accompanying passengers. The program first picks up drivers and passengers based on the route, but then you can use additional filters with the same interests. For example, you can find lovers of peace, or, on the contrary, people who are not averse to hold a conversation or listen to music.
Another winner of the contest Make It Driveable was the Acast app, which offers online streaming of podcasts, adapts the route of travel, time of day and interests of the driver.
Finally, in Ford chose the application RouteValet device is able to plot a route involving the use of both public and private transport.
The team of creators of each winning app has received 10,000 euros and the possibility of further work with Ford. In the perspective of the called application can be integrated with on-Board media center Ford SYNC.
