Particularly high levels of lignans was found by scientists in flax seed.
Journal of Clinical Oncology has published data that scientists have openly healing properties of flax seeds. Experts have found that eating Flaxseed reduces the risk of death from breast cancer.
In particular, scientists have discovered that the compounds present in the composition of some cereals and vegetables, can destroy cancer cells, to “freeze” the growth of new cells and prevent secondary tumours. Compounds referred to, is a phytoestrogen, and most important of them, according to scientific experts, are the lignans.
They are advised to have a diet rich in products of wheat flour, flax seeds and vegetables – the complex of these products helps the body to obtain lignans in sufficient quantity.
“We have the first clear evidence that lignans not only reduce the risk of developing breast cancer after menopause, but also the mortality risk,” said research specialist German cancer research Center in Heidelberg, Jenny Chang-Claude.
In addition to lignans, flaxseeds contain many other useful micronutrients: vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, C, fiber, fatty acids omega 3, omega 6, omega 9, amino acids.
