At a military firing range in the Arkhangelsk region there was an explosion during the test of liquid rocket propulsion.
PE victims were five employees of state Corporation “Rosatom”, three more suffered burns and injuries of varying severity.
The Corporation expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and promised help and support. The victims were hospitalized and receiving medical care.
In a statement, the Department of communications of “Rosatom” said that the ongoing work has been associated with engineering support of isotopic power sources for liquid propulsion system. The exact cause of PE is not yet known.
