In relations between Finland and Russia has been warming.
Finnish-Russian trade Commission with the participation of the Minister of Commerce of Finland and the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia met for the first time in 2013 in order to resume trade and economic relations between the two countries.
“We have 1300 km common border with Russia, so we have a lot of questions that need to be considered from time to time,” – said the Minister of trade Finland Kai, Mikkanen.
At the same time he added that in the interests of Finland to the West remain United in the matter of violations of international law.
“These two things do not contradict each other,” he added.
Mikkanen also stressed that Russia is the fifth country in terms of exports from Finland, so supporting the work of Finnish companies in Russia is very important.
However, he urged not to overestimate the importance of meetings between representatives of the two countries and the work of the joint trade Commission.
“It’s nothing special”, – concluded the Minister of Finland.
It is noted that the issue of sanctions during the meeting was not raised.
According to the newspaper, Finland will visit Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, where he will meet with his Finnish counterpart.
