American-Australian action Thriller “2:22” little known to the General public, but zero marketing does not prevent the picture to collect cash, far exceeded the most optimistic forecasts of experts. The trailer promised us a interesting, dynamic spectacle, revolves around a mash of mysticism, numerology, astrology and a time paradox. On this topic filmed a lot of interesting films, with different genres: Comedy “Groundhog Day” sci-Fi Thriller “the butterfly Effect”, the disaster movie “Eclipse” and many others, so it’s hard to expect something truly new. Director Paul Curry, which account for only one tape, and that thirteen years ago, invited the main roles of Hausman Michiel, better known as daario naharis from “Game of thrones”, and Teresa Palmer, which has long been tipped as a “scream Queen”.

The plot revolves around Dylan Branson, whose life is strictly ordered and painted almost by the minute. Dylan sees the world completely different than everything: events, people, their actions are perceived by them as algorithms, and the ability to analyze and calculate the situation makes it an ideal employee in a very responsible job of air traffic controller (remember the crash over lake Constance in 2002, which served as the basis for drama “Consequences” with Arnold Schwarzenegger). But one day in his regular life is turned upside down at exactly 2:22, when unexplained visions of Dylan loses concentration, which nearly leads to a collision of two crowded airplanes, with the result that Branson was excluded from work. Then Dylan begins to seem that he is living someone else’s life, and a frightening pattern of matches is repeated daily in the smallest details. Trying to sort out the ensuing chaos, the protagonist is almost on the verge of insanity and in order to away from all problems, attends the production of aerial ballet, where he meets the charming Sarah, who was one of the passengers of those Airliners. Random, it would seem, the meeting unites their destiny, and Dylan along with his new obsession is trying to prevent the impending tragedy, which is inevitable should happen in 2:22.

The beginning of the film flies in one breath. The extraordinary life of the protagonist is intriguing, fascinating, and it seems that you are waiting for a truly fascinating Thriller. But everything changes after a fateful encounter that resulted in a banal love story, then the intrigue does not remain a trace, and the movie turns from a Thriller into a full-fledged typical romance, except with occasional elements of mysticism. The first half hour (the best half an hour!) be superfluous, unnecessary and do not affect the storyline and, in fact, we are two completely different movies. Weak finale finally buries so remarkably began painting. Still produce the Floor of the Curry turns out much better than making films (war drama Mel Gibson “For reasons of conscience” 2016 film, which was made by Paul Curry has won many prestigious international awards, including two awards “Oscar”, and was among the top 250 movies according to IMDb).

However, the “2:22” has its merits, and, first and foremost, it’s a brilliant camera work experienced David Eggby. Panorama of new York living their own lives and at times completely overshadow the acting in the middle plane. Also definitely worth noting is the excellent music.

“2:22” is a mystical romance, a great idea which is ruined by the disgusting performance. Instead of going for the wide screen, the picture is far more organic would be looked at as one of the “monsters of the week” the cult “x-files”, especially the series “Monday”, “Aubrey”, “mind’s Eye” and several others have a similar scenario of intersection with the work of Paul Curry.
