The administration of the social network Facebook officially announced that pages, regularly fasting, fake news, will not be able to buy advertising.
At the moment the network does not allow advertisers to remove advertising that contains links to articles that are marked as fake services factchecking. This announcement is the next step in this direction, reports ain.ua.
“If the pages constantly post articles that are marked as fake, that constant violators will not be allowed to advertise on Facebook. This update will reduce the distribution of fake news,” – said in a statement.
The company did not name the exact number of fake news that is allowed to post to the page administrator before it will block the promotional opportunities. This ban will not be permanent if the page in the future will refrain from posting fakes, it will be the ability to buy advertising.
We will remind, in December of last year, the administration network has announced that it will begin to mark fake news.
