In Soviet times, theft was a social disaster. Take where you work, is not considered a theft. However, compared to the current volumes, the former Soviet “shrinkage and outage” was much less, he writes in his article Lviv expert Vasily Hudecki.
According to conservative expert estimates, during the year, the Ukrainians stole from retail stores goods worth more than 1 billion UAH. Every 20th item is stolen. In fact, the phenomenon is much more. Approximately 1-1,5% of the profits of each store is lost due to theft, the author notes.
There is such a natural trait in some people — take what is bad. But few of them. Young people mainly suffers from theft, believing that thus asserts itself, is courage. However, stealing is not only young people, but also quite respectable citizens. But most often thefts of sin those who do not have money for food, the article says.
“As the data Axis and the non-commercial partnership of retailers, the main causes of losses in retail are: internal theft — 33,3%, external theft 32.9 percent, administrative errors 26.1 per cent, fraud vendors to 7.6%. Mainly to steal honey, the small size of the goods: instruments for shaving, clothes, shoes. Of the products — cheese, sausage, vegetables, vodka, etc.,” writes Hudecki.
Some people justify theft with the poverty of the population. In their view, prices in the retail chains is significantly high, so people do not have the ability to buy necessities, particularly food. Therefore, according to experts, the number of thefts will continue to grow in the future.
Another part of people think that theft caused great damage to the stores, and liberalism law enforcement will only lead to the growth of the appetites of thieves. In their view, to blame themselves the owners of trading networks. Because usually they steal where there is no proper system of control, the expert said.
“It would seem that if such losses the owners of trading networks should be screaming about this issue every year. But do not shout. Moreover, keep this data under a huge secret. Why? Because all the losses in the stores included in the price of the goods. However, it seems that not only the owners of trading networks, but the government doesn’t know how to act in this situation. Or deliberately do not pay attention to this phenomenon” – summarizes the author.
According to the President of the Ukrainian Fund “Public opinion” Vladimir Podgornov, the output of this position is the following – it is necessary to change the situation with salaries.

“It’s theater of the absurd, when our Ministers get ten times higher salaries than the European officials, and ordinary citizens — fifty times less than a worker in Europe. We have a large group of people that are not in the system, and they somehow have to live,” said the Podgornov.
