Russian Academy of national economy and public administration under the President of the Russian Federation (Ranepa) conducted a study which found that 22% of Russians have to save on the most necessary foods because of poverty.
According to experts, these citizens are regularly faced with the choice between simple products and medicines, according to the website of the Academy.
According to the survey, 35.6% of Russians can afford good quality products and essential goods, but for the purchase of smartphones or major appliances, they are forced to take out a loan and then save on products.
28% of Russians feel confident in the current situation, they can purchase durable goods and do not feel the threat of declining living standards in the near future.
