Expensive foreign parcels want to impose a uniform fee of 15%

The Association of Internet Commerce (AKITA), which unites major Russian retailers, proposes to replace the existing duties on expensive parcels from abroad, a single fee of 15% regardless of the price of goods. About it reports “Kommersant”.

AKITA turned to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak with a proposal to reform the regulation of purchases in foreign online stores. Proposals received in the Ministry of communications, which is April 29, redirected them to the Analytical center for the government Institute. Gaidar and the head of “Mail of Russia” Nikolay Podguzova asked to submit proposals and comments, the newspaper writes.

The document AKIT proposes to recognize cross-border trade form of foreign economic activity, to exclude goods from foreign online shops from the product category for personal use. The collection was initially proposed 20%, but then the percentage has been adjusted.

Responsible for the collection are encouraged to assign “Mail of Russia” and the Express carriers, and implement a mechanism through advance payments, which will come in the budget as shipment of goods.
