Ukrainian “Alexandria” in the matches against the champion of Belarus BATE will lead the fight for a place in the group stage of the Europa League.
Victory over Astra was opened before the “Alexandria” historic opportunity: the team of Vladimir Sharan can add to the list of clubs competing in the main stage of the Euro Cup tournament.
Just a few years ago, BATE were considered a formidable force in European football – the repeated champion of Belarus since 2008, only three cases failed to reach the group stage of the Champions League or the Europa League. Victories over Bayern and Roma, decent matches with AC Milan, real Madrid and Juventus – now it is all over. BATE is in crisis, and even in the domestic arena “Tractor” on the equator of the championship is unusual third.
Nevertheless, European experience Belarusians not to take. “Alexandria” in this respect nothing to boast, but this factor should not be decisive. The recent match against Shakhtar showed what they are capable of “Alexandria” – the team of Sharan due to the excellent cohesion and motivation able to take away from Russia a good result.
