Women’s national team of Ukraine on basketball surprisingly lost to Slovakia and failed to reach the quarter-finals of the European championship.
The match for the 1/4 finals for Ukraine began with a missed jerk 0:9. The Slovak team opened the regular Ukrainian defense and actively used sloppy game rivals someone else’s ring.
In the second quarter, the deficit reached 14 points. Hope for a comeback appeared before the big break – Ukraine organized a jerk 7:0 and reduced the gap to five points.
In the third quarter it took Alina Yagupov, the leader of the national team of Ukraine scored 18 points, which helped the team of Vladimir Kholopova for a few tens of seconds for the first time in the match to take the lead.
Contrary to expectations, a powerful spurt of Ukraine did not break Slovakia. In the final quarter of the game at the “blue-yellow” finally collapsed, and the main
executioner team was 37-year-old Suzanne Zhirkov, who scored 31 points (6 three-pointers).
