The court also ordered the EU to reimburse the costs of the judicial procedure of the Austrian lawyers of ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The European court of 19 December annulled the sanctions that were imposed on the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. On Thursday, December 20.
“The EU Council decision of 5 may 2015, on amendments to the decision in 2014 concerning restrictive measures against certain persons, entities and bodies that was due to the situation in Ukraine, will be void at that point, as to Mr. Mykola Azarov,” – said in the court’s decision.
In this case, the European court not only reversed the decision on the imposition of sanctions on Azarov, but ordered the EU to reimburse the costs of the judicial procedure of the Austrian lawyers, as during the initial trial and the appeal process.
“Should “reimburse, as for consideration in the first instance and the present appeal,” urged the court, the Council of the EU.
We will note, in April the EU court refused to lift the sanctions against Azarov.
