Andy Rubin, the author of the Android OS, has recently created a startup Essential, which a few weeks ago introduced the Essential mobile Phone. The unit was simultaneously a top, frameless and modular, but its delivery in due time has not started, and now Essential experiencing a change of control.
It all started with Andy Posi, head of communications at Essential, who recently resigned, and now it’s time to retire Brian Wallace. Mr. Wallace was Vice President at Essential marketing and was a key figure in the company, and the official reason for his departure is precisely the failure of the timing of the release of the Essential Phone. Mobile, recall, was announced in late may and had to leave no later than June 30, but the second half of July, and sales have not begun.
All who are in any way associated with Essential Phone, including mobile operators, has announced its readiness to put this smartphone bundled with subscription contracts, keep the deathly silence, and no one except Andy Rubin, does not know what happens with Essential Phone really. Interestingly, the Essential has already started work on their second smartphone, as yet unnamed, but probably he will be brought to logical conclusion in view of the outbreak of reshuffles at the top that usually entails downsizing.
