Erdogan said that a simple apology is not enough.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday rejected the apology of NATO after it is “recorded” enemies in military exercises in Norway.
Erdogan commented on the scandal, noting that such a dismissive attitude cannot be so easily forgiven.
“Did you see disrespectful behavior on NATO exercises yesterday. There are mistakes which are made are not fools, and only the lowest people,” Erdogan said on television on Saturday.
“Such a question cannot be solved by a simple apology,” he said.
We will remind, on Friday morning, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey withdraws its troops from NATO exercises in Norway, because of his and Mustafa Kemal Ataurk, which in Turkey is considered the founder of the modern state, portrayed the enemies.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has written to the Turkish side a letter of apology for the scandal. Norway also apologized to Erdogan. The officer who had depicted Erdogan as an enemy, was fired.
