Erdogan has threatened consequences if Russia does not fulfill obligations on Syria

If Russia does not fulfill its obligations in Syria, Turkey will act unilaterally. It warned President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it quotes the Agency “Anadolu”.

“Turkey reserves the right of its own resources to achieve the objectives of the operation “Spring shield” if Moscow does not fulfill the obligations on Syria,” said Erdogan.

According to him, Ankara is ready to take unilateral action in Idlib. Erdogan stressed that Turkey aims to secure the return to their homes of 3.6 million Syrian refugees are on Turkish territory, as well as 1.5 million people waiting to cross the border, in the Syrian province of Idlib.

Recall, on the background of aggravation of the situation in Syria, the presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks. They agreed on the introduction of ceasefire on the frontline in Idlib from midnight on 6 March.
