Naval service of the United Kingdom at the ceremony took the Navy a new aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth”.
According to the Ministry of defence, the ship has successfully passed all stages of testing and is ready for naval service. At the ceremony of taking ship in the fleet was attended by Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne and the British defense Secretary Gavin Williamson.
The total displacement of the aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth” is of 70.6 thousand tons with a length of 280 meters and a width of 73 meters. The carrier is capable of speeds up to 25 knots, and the range of its course is about ten thousand nautical miles. The ship is equipped with two gas turbine Rolls Royce MT30 capacity of 53 thousand horsepower each. The carrier can carry up to 50 aircraft of various types, including the F-35B Lightning II, Merlin anti-submarine helicopters and heavy transport helicopters Chinook.

Note that the aircraft carrier “Queen Elizabeth” was the largest ship of its class in the Royal Navy of great Britain for all history of its existence.
