Ship “Ilya Muromets”, which is aground near the village of Myshkin in Yaroslavl region, took broke only after 16 hours.
The delay was due to the fact that the owner of the ship has sent a letter of guarantee for payment of towing, but never got it. So the captain of the tug immediately began to remove the ship off the rocks.
It is noted that the vessel ran aground approximately at 23 o’clock on August 26 and had it towed only 15:16 the next day.
However, the Russian media reported that the incident occurred due to technical reasons. Supposedly the crew noticed that the fuel compartments began to get water and it was decided to moor the ship in the wrong place.
We will remind, on Board the vessel were 130 passengers, including eight children and 50 crew members.
