By the end of 2016, Bloomberg estimated the average cost of an electric car at $43 thousand, and the usual car – about $28 thousand. This prediction assumes that the cost of traditional vehicles after 2025 will grow to $30 million and above – including because of more strict requirements for emissions, not decrease, in an attempt to compete with electric vehicles.
In the study by Bloomberg New Energy Finance noted that such a significant decline in value must occur by reducing the price of batteries which currently account for approximately half the cost of the electric vehicle. According to the forecast, between 2016 and 2030 the cost of batteries for electric vehicles should fall by 77% due to the active development of the segments development of new technologies and greater production capacity.
Representatives of the Renault was more bold in these predictions according to them, the price tags on conventional and electric vehicles will be equal to the beginning of 2020.
