Electric Kia Soul will be able to drive longer without recharging
Kia Soul EV will receive a new high-capacity battery, thanks to which the reserve will increase by 38 km, riding according to the European NDEC cycle.
About the upcoming modernization of the battery visited website Kia World, whose team managed to get the German brochure containing the new data. According to this document, battery capacity will increase from 27 to 30 kWh. Thus, the electric Kia soul will be able to overcome 250 kilometers without recharging, instead of the current 212.
The new battery the number of cells will increase from 192 to 200. In addition, it will be slightly heavier than the former. Its weight will be 290 kg (+13 kg).
At the moment it is unknown when the debut of the upgraded Kia Soul EV, but probably it will happen later this year.
Recall that in the near future in the Kia lineup will join another electric car. As reported by Motormania, next year, the Korean automaker will release an all-electric Kia Niro. The car will get a powerplant from Hyundai Ioniq.
