Sixteen years in the Egyptian archaeologists carrying out excavations in the city of the dead DRA Abu El-Naga, to dig up ancient burial garden.
Scientists discovered a small area, carved into the rock were used as gardens that existed at the burial site. On an area of two to three metres when grown special trees and shrubs — experts say that the ancient Egyptians paid for such plants is very high symbolic value.
“Four thousand years ago, there were varieties of unusual plants — they landed for ceremonial purposes to highlight certain symbolic meanings. Now from these trees were only fragments of the roots, which, however, can tell a lot about gardening residents of ancient Egypt,” say the researchers.
The find was made in the necropolis, which is located on the West Bank of the Nile. For these places, according to the archaeologists, such an object is quite unique.
