Modern housing is built from ecological materials and can exist without connection to external power.
The architects of the Argentine Bureau BAM! the house was created, in which the main role is played by the nature.
The customer of this house in the North of the province of Buenos Aires in the first place wanted to reduce the loss of green space on the plot. Then the architects decided to work on architecture and landscape at the same time and turned the plot into three-dimensional garden that connects all the floors of the house.
Green ramp lead from the ground floor to the first floor and continue on, forming an endless terraced garden.
Architects became interested in the idea of nature conservation on the site and made the building fully sustainable and energy efficient. For example, gardens are supplied only with rain water that is collected in special tanks, and the roof is equipped with solar panels that are responsible for electricity, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
Many of the materials used in construction are fully recyclable. A metal gate is what is left unused in the construction of the house. The walls are made of concrete with expanded polystyrene insulation – here again, the architects are saving materials and rely on for stability.
In order to create the same natural environment inside the house, the sponsors have focused on a large amount of daylight in each room of the house and, of course, picturesque views. The entire space is very flexible and can fit any needs – one person or a whole family.
The landscaping in this project plays a major role, was designed carefully. The architects created a garden with vegetables and fruits, while not causing damage to the territory and making a contribution to the preservation of urban ecology, and, moreover, their house became the city a “path” consisting solely of native plants.
