Earthquake in Mexico damaged the famous football stadium. Video

“Azteca” is one of the largest football stadiums in the world.

The earthquake capacity of 7.1 points in Mexico was damaged by the famous football stadium “Estadio Azteca”, which is located in Mexico city.

In particular, one of the stands there was a huge crack. For this reason, the authorities cancelled the match of the championship Mexico between the clubs “America” and “Cruz Azul”.

“Azteca” is one of the largest football stadiums in the world and can accommodate more than 100 thousand fans. The stadium was opened in 1966 and hosted the summer Olympics 1968, world Cup finals of 1970 and 1986. The attendance record belongs to the Boxing match between Julio Cesar Chavez and Greg Haugen – 132 thousand spectators.
