Manufacturer of household appliances Dyson has patented the design of his electric car. Judging by the picture, it will be a five-meter seven-passenger crossover with a ground clearance more than the Ranger Rover, and huge wheels.
British publication Autocar says that the length of the car Dyson will be close to the standard Range Rover – that is, its length is about five meters. The wheelbase of the electric car will consist of 3300 mm and a height of 1650 mm. The ground clearance will be in the 40-60 millimetres longer than the Range Rover (220 millimeters). In addition, the Dyson will be non-standard wheels – they have a diameter of 23 or 24 – inch- shod in narrow tires.
The basis of car will become a platform-skateboard with multiple motors fed from solid-state batteries, and self-leveling adaptive suspension with adjustable clearance. The body is made of aluminium, as the company’s founder sir James Dyson believes that steel is too heavy, and carbon fiber is not strong enough. The cabin will have seven seats – the seats in the second and third row is set higher than the first, for better visibility.
This indirectly indicates that the car will be positioned as a premium product probably Dyson will be competing with Jaguar Land Rover and Tesla. A pilot batch of cars will gather at the company’s factory in the English County of Wiltshire, but the mass production will be launched in Singapore. It is expected that the conveyor Dyson electric car will rise by 2020.
