Warsaw has decided to step up its representative office in Kiev by the Deputy Minister because of the “goryachego time” of the presidential campaign in Ukraine.
The Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine will be the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs Bartosz Tsihotsky. Election candidates confirmed by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.
“The proposal is to Tsihotsky, Vice-Minister of foreign Affairs, took this position, so this is actually the strengthening of this political representation, as well as, of course, the strengthening of relations with the Ministry of foreign Affairs,” explained Duda.
He noted that the approaching presidential elections in Ukraine, which means “very busy time”.
19 December it became known about the withdrawal of the Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine Jan Hell, the cadence of which is coming to an end on 31 January 2019. Inferno was appointed Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine in 2016.
Tsihotsky is a historian by training. He worked as an analyst at the Centre for Eastern studies, Polish Institute of international Affairs, Bureau of homeland security. In 2015-2016 was an employee of the Polish Embassy in Moscow, after which he returned to Warsaw for the position of Advisor to the Chairman of the intelligence Service. 2017 working again in the foreign Ministry, where he is responsible for the Eastern policy.
