According to a press release, Dubai became the first city in the world, received its own font developed by Microsoft. The authorities of the Emirate plan to use it in official correspondence. In addition, it will be available online and will be part of Microsoft Office 365.
Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum said on Twitter that Dubai Font is a unique project reflecting the heritage and culture of UAE. “I personally followed all stages of development from the first sketches of the design to the implementation,” he said.
Over Dubai Font worked, the Lebanese designer Nadine Chahin (Nadine Chahine), in the past created the Arabic version of Neue Helvetica, Frutiger and Palatino.
