Car thieves have developed a new way to steal cars, which is based on the fact, to lure the driver out of the car. “Bait” for the driver is an ordinary plastic bottle.
The thief secures the bottle between the wheel arch and the tyre, and when a car starts to move, the bottle emits a grinding sound, writes Autocentre.
The trick is designed so that the driver immediately gets out of the car in search of the source of the strange noise, leaving the keys in the ignition. After that, the hijacker will only quickly get in the car and leave.
To avoid such situations before traveling you have a good look at the car, police suggest. In addition, out of the car, not in any case do not leave the keys.
New method of auto theft emerged in Western countries, but it is not excluded that soon it will get to Ukraine, the newspaper notes.
