In the first Ukrainian Thriller, and even on a mythological basis, so even in 3D, I believe. In a dynamic, mixed with an interesting storyline, quality acting and even special effects. In the end, a film by Ukrainian standards gave not so little money.
The failure to get complete and not subject to appeal. The script does not hold water, even in thrash American horror films, where he is deeply secondary, scripts, and where better and more sane. The action was quite possible to move these days, the movie would have lost nothing, opting the ‘ 70s for me, remains unclear. The story of the mysterious creatures — bacigalova with present reference to the times of Kievan Rus required and the corresponding plot of the prologue is a flashback to that era, which was beautiful and mysterious to furnish and which would create the mood, showed how old this legend is, how she lives and probably will live in these mountains. Instead, we have a weak background with children malardalen in time and absolutely does not create atmosphere.
Acting is not in the “Synevyr” completely. That’s just not her. Classic thrillers composition of young people in a ratio of three to two (three boys and two girls) like actually decided to relax in a beautiful place and to capture it on camera in the genre of documentary photography. I don’t know what high school theater found these young “talents”, but if I were in their place and the place of teachers are seriously thinking about their future creative life and capabilities. Not in any film seen this, pardon the rudeness, apathy and indifference to the material. Emotions all at zero, negligence betrays in every word, gesture, glance. Of course, the dialogues, the actors slipped even those. To put it mildly, so as not to be rude? — meaningless and stupid, about anything. Information eyeliner to the horror that somewhere out there, and here-here will appear, confined to just a couple phrases, although this ancient myth has earned the story at least five minutes. One of the actors here shame, because it’s for Sergei Romanyuk, who prescribed an amorphous character with a text of the same level of content and meaning, like all the others in this picture.
Escalate the situation, tensions in the “Synevyr” the authors also failed to create. Chaotic and out of place scattered classic the element of surprise does not work anywhere — in other words, the entire movie is not scary never, for the most part funny and sad, but it’s not exactly the feelings that you experience when watching a Thriller. And so ten or fifteen minutes, if not more, without the slightest clue as to what’s going on. Subsequent events do not shed on previous events no light. What really happened during the night, and remained for me for a number of moments a mystery.
Worthy of the “crown” of all this was the beast was performed entirely on the technologies of those times, which ran around the Synevyr. Showed it about six times, looks of great humility, not to boast of its “new word” in the image of mythological creatures on the screen. But, however, quite enough for dogs around the world sued for this visual mockery, the clumsiness and bad taste. Ending with visually: to those who managed to see “Synevyr” 3D, quite frankly, hats off. To me, the task was not able to do.
The realities of the 70’s in the tape too, not so convincing, if you wish, you can see a few mistakes in the details. But for me the climax here was continuously broadcast on the radio, Volodymyr Ivasyuk. I love all of his songs, but not one of his play back then, especially in the years when he, as I recall, was already out of favour with the Soviet authorities?
The ending of the picture is also absolutely vague, not explain, in fact, almost nothing, only more confusing.
The only bright moment was a beautiful panorama of Sinevir, which failed to destroy even a “creative” creative team of the film. But personally I regret it, because it is because of the picturesque and nice shot of the lake with its surroundings I won’t be able to erase this nightmare that I wanted to do immediately afterwards.
