The holiday was established on 25 may 1994 the President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk. Then he signed a decree according to which Ukraine annually on June 6 decided to celebrate the professional holiday of workers of mass media.
To celebrate the journalist Day on 6 June were not accidental. On this day the national Union of journalists of Ukraine was accepted into the International Federation of journalists. It was voted the overwhelming majority of its participants.
With the professional holiday of representatives of the media Tuesday morning, has congratulated the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, posting on the page in Facebook greeting video.
