Ukrainian tennis player Alexander Dolgopolov for the first time since 2012 made it to the third round of the U.S. Open.
For access to the 1/16 finals Dolgopolov competed with the experienced Czech Tomas Berdych. In personal meetings the Ukrainian was defeated with the score 2:5, and the tournaments of Grand slam tennis players to date do not overlap.
The beginning of the match was for Berdych in the first set, the Czech played a five break points and an early break allowed Tomas to take the lead in the match.
In the second set Dolgopolov added that immediately reflected on the nature of the match. Ukrainian twice took the Berdych’s serve and evened the score.
The third set lasted a maximum of 13 MB games. Dolgopolov with the score 4:4 missed two break points, but the tiebreak on the fourth attempt took the lead.

Next opponent Alexander Dolgopolov in new York will be Serb Viktor Troicki. In case of victory, the Ukrainian will make a bid to return to the top 50 of the ATP ranking.
