A leading Ukrainian tennis player Alexander Dolgopolov broke into the final of a clay tournament of the ATP 250 in Båstad (Sweden).
For their second final season, he competed with the 88-th racket of the world from Russia’s Andrey Kuznetsov. The players held a debut match on the ATP level.
Dolgopolov first attempt took the opponent’s serve and took the lead 3:0. Towards the end of the set Kuznetsov got used to the flow of Ukrainians and started to get to break points. Dolgopolov in troubled moments, the searing pain in her foot, she found the strength to enhance flow, which allowed
Alexander to the end of the set to win back four break-point.
In the second set Dolgopolov with the score 2:2 made the break and never allowed Kuznetsov to return to the game. Ukrainian confidently brought the match to its logical conclusion and was one step away from a fourth title in his career.
Alexander Dolgopolov for the eighth time in his career he made it to the final of the ATP tournament. The Ukrainian may for the first time to issue two titles per year. For the status of Båstad champion Dolgopolov will face the winner of the Spanish Derby between Fernando Verdasco and David Ferrer.
