What diseases can cause tap water
British and American researchers found that consumption of tap water threaten the development of gastrointestinal infections.
The experts conducted a meta-analysis of 14 papers on the relationship between water turbidity and the occurrence of infections that were caused by the parasites Giardia lamblia (causes giardiasis) and Cryptosporidium (cause cryptosporidiosis).
10 of them found a different number of parasites irrespective of water turbidity.
Scientists believe that the purity of water except turbidity affected by additional factors, in particular, the state of water supply systems.
The who for measuring the turbidity of water uses unit NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit).
For drinking water NTU not more than 5, the figure below 1 allows to treat the water without germs.
